We often question why do we need a DSLR when we can always invest in a smartphone, smartphones have really made their mark when it comes to new upgrades not only in design, battery, processor and display but what most customers look for is investing in a good camera phone so they can take it anywhere and everywhere they go and still get amazing shots. Brands such as Samsung, iPhone, Google pixel has definitely made it a point that their camera is one of their main selling points. But the question is why a DSLR?

Photographers and professionals still prefer using the DSLR for their work, the Canon 1500D is aimed at helping photographers who want to start their career at a more serious level rather than just using their smartphone that has very limited options when it comes due to limitations of file format (JPG) as RAW images can help in the editing process.

Design and Build

Most DSLR cameras are similarly built to prevent users from relearning again and again while upgrading their cameras, this model physical built has not changed much from its predecessors and the only difference is the latest iteration is the little weight loss on this model and it weighs at 475g. It is identical to the Canon 1300D with the same screen size and same battery capacity.

This ergonomic design is very comfortable and easy to handle with all the controls located at the right making it easier to access nearly everything and f you have used previous models before it will come in naturally. The location of the power switch is very easy and makes shooting very easy because you can turn on the shutter once you are ready  along with the dial, buttons for flash, shutter, scroll wheel to adjust ISO, aperture, exposure, etc

For beginners or amateur photographers, the lens delivered excellent results. When tested it is seen that the color saturation is decent with a little pop of warmer hues. In low lighting, this model does an excellent job with color representation, which was maintained across the ISO ranges but with a little image softening that creeps in at ISO 6400 above which is usual for cameras at this price range. The Canon EOS 1500D comes with four video recording options 1920 x 1080 full HD at 25fps and 24fps, 1280 x 720 HD at 50fps and 640 x 480 VGA at 25fps with pretty standard settings for an entry-level DSLR. The video quality is excellent with detail and color accuracy with smooth transitions between different scenes but in low lighting, video quality is not at its best or you can
